The X102FD active speakers from Amate has been developed as a powerful, compact, more efficient point source alternative to line arrays in medium size applications. This hugely capable speaker system uses dual 10-inch neodymium woofers and a 3-inch compression driver with rotable horn that ensures the best sound dispersion when used either horizontally or vertically.
The design objective of the X102FD was to optimally achieve the highest quality sound at the highest possible output levels from the most compact enclosure possible. The 10-inch drivers feature 2.5-inch voice coils and unique phase plug baffle units, powered from 2500W from the units Class D amplifier, with an additional 500W feeding the 3-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver, for an immense 136dB continuous rated output.
The X102FD is able to be deployed in both vertically and horizontally, due to its rotatable horn with a simple ‘no tools required’ pull, turn and release mechanism. In standard vertical applications the horn provides (HxV) 80 x 60 dispersion (in its default position). In the horizontal plane – for applications such as front-fills within a large-scale line array system, or close to ceiling hanging in an auditorium – quick rotation of the horn maintains (HxV) 80 x 60 dispersion. Likewise, (HxV) 60 x 80 coverage can be obtained in either orientation.
Amate Audio’s latest version of its Active+ onboard power & DSP control technology offers a colour touchscreen interface of the DSP system, with advanced FIR response filters, system EQ presets, with Dante audio networking and Ethernet / Wi-Fi connections that allow the X102FD active speakers to be setup and tuned as part of a complete audio system. Amate’s DSPStudio software allows for intuitive parameter settings and status monitoring from tablets or laptops. Ideal for theatres, churches, auditoriums and live stage environments.
These high performance powered PA speakers offer the controlled coverage and long throw of a line array speaker, while remaining a versatile point source unit for front of house requirements.
The heavy-duty baltic birch ply cabinet is finished with an extremely durable ‘Polyurea’ resin coating, built-in M8 rigging points, and features a 1.5mm punched steel grille with grey micro foam cloth backing.
