The latest version of Amate Audio’s XCELLENCE Cluster Array, the XA112 line array speaker takes the classic design of the existing X12 speaker system and gives it the 3rd generation of Class D bi-amplification and 64-bit DSP processing, with local and remote setup using Dante audio networking or the Amate DSPStudio software.
A cluster array, or constant curvature array, provides an ideal sound reinforcement solution for smaller to medium sized environments where a full size line array system is simply too large to provide close proximity coverage in and around the main stage area, and a point source speaker system will leave gaps or create interference between cabinets. Its often an ideal solution for theatres and auditoriums, with a full flown array system comprising three XA112 modules and a XW118 subwoofer per side.
The XA112 cluster array module can be flown both horizontally or vertically to suit the application, with its distinctive isophasic wave-guide front design and stylish yet imposing design hinting at its capability. With continuous output levels up to 129 dB (1m), constant 100º horizontal coverage and a frequency response down to 58 Hz at up to 35 m, the XA112 provides side-lobe free vertical dispersions of 15˚, 30˚, 45˚ or 60˚, singularly and in arrays of two, three or four cabinets respectively in vertical array applications.
Amate Audio’s latest version of its Active+ onboard power & DSP control technology offers a colour touchscreen interface of its DSP system, with advanced FIR phase response filters, EQ presets, and Dante audio networking and Ethernet / Wi-Fi connections that allow the XA112 line array speakers to be set up and tuned as part of a complete audio system. Amate’s DSPStudio software allows for intuitive parameter settings and status monitoring from tablets or laptops. Ideal for theatres, churches, auditoriums and live stage environments.
These high-performance cluster array speakers offer the sound quality and coverage capability that makes them a sublime choice for modern venues where a larger line array system will simply be unsuitable due to its longer throw design. The heavy-duty baltic birch ply cabinet is finished with an extremely durable ‘Polyurea’ resin coating, built-in rigging bars, and features a 1.5mm punched steel grille with grey micro-foam cloth backing.
